Hi there!

i have been coming to this site to read news and your stories for about a year now, but have never posted due to my mortal fear of somehow being found out... i have family in as most of you do, who are all very sincerely convinced that they are on the path of light.. i have never been happy with the beliefs, mainly the doublespeak on the status of women, the hypocrisy, the dramatisation of the smallest of matters, and the general guilt trip that was my life until i stumbled across some hard evidence that my suspicions about 'gods channel' were well founded.

unfortunately i am now addicted to turning over every piece of information i can find, there seems to be no end to the amount of $#*& below the surface.

i will probably remain in this state for awhile, hungrily devouring all the information that makes me feel validated for my stand against much of the mindless rubbish that has gone around me during my life as a jw.

WELCOME to you and your husband!! We are so happy you found the forum!! As you know from reading our posts, you are not alone, and hopefully will find comfort in that fact here.

Thank you for sharing your story. Our last event was also an assembly. I was livid almost the entire time. So I understand how hard it was to sit and listen for 3 days to all the BS.

My suggestion for you is to allow the CO to come over and be friendly, cordial, and appreciative for their visit. Say you have just been really run down, blah blah blah like you were saying..and tell them thank you. Let them pray with you and counsil you. Have your bible out and ready before they get their. This will all buy you more time. At least it did for my husband and I. Now of course I would never meet with them again..because I could care less if they dipose of us. But if I was trying tto not blow my cover..I would play it cool. Just listen and smile. It will be one of the hardest things you will do because if you are anything like me I was bitting my lip not to blast them with all my findings. And I would have blown them away as I am sure you can.

Just finished talking to an old JW friend....

....and it was all that i expected.. she and i were extremely close at one time, but we sort of lost touch with each other over a year or go or so, not getting to talk to each other much within that time frame.

she's a very hardcore pioneer as i once was.

i think that's why we got along so great.

That really stinks! Reminds me of a conversation I had with a very dear friend of mine as well. I never heard from her again. Funny thing is I was the really loyal JW, and she was a "slacker". Yet she wouldn't look at anything I had found, but cut me off completely. Strange how they may not be loyal to going to all the meetings, service ,studying etc. yet if the elders say to avoid anyone who questions, they are to be avoided like the plauge and they obey! It sucks I know! Still you gave her alot to think about and be assured everytime they teach one of those subjects she will be reminded of your words.

Was Jesus raised from the grave in a "fleshly" since or as a spirit?

this has come up in conversation with my husband.

i think the jw's taught that jesus was raised as a spirit.

if this is so, what happened to his body?

Good question! I find it ironic though I was thinking about this very thing a cuple of days ago! STRANGE! I believe the JWs teach he was raised up as a Spirit.

Yet it doesn't make sence to me because of the scripture that says flesh and blood cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. (Or something to that effect.) Thomas questioned Jesus after he had been raised and Jesus showed him the nail holes in his hands.

Perhaps Jesus body was resurrected and then his spirit left later to the Heavens. Good question. If yo wait a bit I am sure you will recieve tons of thoughts on this.

as many of you may or may not remember last year we had a "frosty" who was attacked by jws next door.

Dear Friends,

Happy Tuesday!! As many of you may or may not remember last year we had a "Frosty" who was attacked by JWs next door. We had not been brave enough to decorate outside except for "Frosty", a couple of potted trees with white twinkle lights, and a wreath on the front door. Still it was enough to bring out the fangs for those JWs.

Anyhow..this year we have been stocking up and are going to go for it!!! We have been anxiously awaiting this season so we could really do it up big!! We can hardly wait!!!! We will be putting up lights this weekend, but won't turn them on until after Thanksgiving. Oh how I LOVE the Holidays! And I LOVE tradition!!!

I found a great website for making some neat displays. Took me a wile to find them so I thought I would share them with you all in case any of you are as excited about Christmas as we are....

Not only is Jesus, Michael the Archangel, it is he that is pictured as one of the two "covering cherubs" atop the Ark of the Covenant. The angels are considered to be married. Husband and wife. The other angel, you guessed it, is none other than Satan. So Jesus and Satan were once husband and wife. Christ got a divorce from his wife in Eden and his second wife will come from among mankind since Christ is so in love with men (but who can blame him, men can be quite irresistible).

Whoa wait a mintute!! What Bible did you get THAT from?? You cannot actually believe this?!? Can you??? You must be trying to be funny! How in the world do you find scriptures to support such bizzarre thinking?
